With more than 51,615 City fans paying homage to our most successful captain of all time, this was Vincent Kompany’s night, raising funds for the TACKLE4MCR cause.
The City legends, managed by Pep Guardiola, lined up with Joe Hart in goal and reunited the defence that formed the bedrock of the 2011/12 title-winning campaign with Kompany and Joleon Lescott partnering alongside Pablo Zabaleta and Micah Richards - plus Kolo Toure.
In midfield department, the Dutch Enforcer himself, Nigel de Jong, had David Silva, Samir Nasri, Shaun Wright-Phillips, James Milner and Dietmar Hamann.
The Premier League All-Stars, managed by Roberto Martinez and Thierry Henry, had more than a sprinkling of red about it.
They lined up Edwin Van Der Sar, Shay Given, Gary Neville, Ashley Cole, Jamie Carragher, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs, Rafael Van Der Vaart, Mikel Arteta, Patrick Vieira, Robbie Keane, Robin Van Persie, Tim Cahill and Darius Vassell.

It was around 2003 - 2005. The new Championship Manager came out on PS2. I played as Manchester United manager obviously. And there he was. Vincent Kompany from Anderlecht, one of the brightest wonderkids in central defender position. I always bought him as an addition to my squad in the game. Man, I was gutted when he move to City in real life. What a Legend.

what a game it was with a high intensity Petrov and van persie motm. Pep doesnt like to lose even in a friendly game . arteta still fit. Kompany is a City Legend and deserve a perfect night like this

I know its a 'no-tackle' friendly (except for Zaba ! lol) but some of those moves and goals were delightful ! I used to love Martin Petrov's left foot...Even nice to see some of the ex-U_d players; RVP on supreme form... Robbie Keanes first touch was never that good, lol.. Sparky ..! Trademark Benjani ! Pep happy with his new long-ball style and target-man lol.. Also Pep and Vinnie on bench... could be sign of things to come for King Komp.. Thanks for super vid. Up Manchester ! C'mon City ! peace
